This sleek Fleetmaster has had its entire undercarriage and drive train upgraded. Under the sheet metal, the whole front end of the car has been replaced with the front end from a modern Mustang II. The sub frame, disc brakes, shocks, rack and pinion steering ... the entire Mustang II front end has been professionally grafted onto the original 1948 body. The engine is a Chevrolet 350 cid engine with a 4 barrel carb, Edelbrock manifold, and headers that lead to dual Flowmaster mufflers. Shifting is done by a GM Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission and a Ford 9 inch rear end is used to put the power down. The air ride system changes the ride height by as much as six inches enabling the Fleetmaster to go fro from Low Rider to Hot Rod.
