Clean and clear title in owner’s name. Owner purchased this one about 5 years ago from Harwood Motors, a high end classic car dealer located in Ohio. He has used it for wedding photography and it has been garage kept and travelled only around 500 miles since purchase. It is straight as an arrow with no signs of damage, just evidence of light use. Black shows every flaw and you can see how honest those sides are.
The style of this 222 inch long ‘62 is impressive, though almost subtle compared to the wild giant finned Cadillacs of ‘59. Here’s an executive cruiser and in black and silver even has a bit of a sinister edge. The two-tone paint really compliments the flowing lines and looks great with all the nicely done chrome and those classic wide whites. Black power top is in good shape and works as it should.
Only signs of light use here. There are no cracks in the dash and the leather seats are very nicely done. Dash is beautiful with just the right amount of chrome. The curve of the windshield with those beautifully thin A-pillars gives you a panoramic view and with the top down you are one with your environment. American Iron with luxury style and all the comforts you need.
The 6.4 Liter 325 hp 390 cubic inch V8 engine runs fine and the 4-speed automatic transmission shifts nicely. Plenty of power here with 430 ft-lbs of torque. At 4,500 lbs, it glides over the road and gives you everything you would expect from a Cadillac with smooth, quiet power and command of the highway.
Since the car was used for the last five years for photographs only there are some mechanical issues that need attention, but nothing major. A 60 year old engine will show some oil leaks and the power windows will be slow. Clock and radio are not working and power steering needs attention. There is some surface rust underneath, but apparently nothing major. Trunk looks good, but some evidence of patching can be seen under the carpets. Rubber weatherstripping should be replaced.
This is a lot of bang for the buck and a lot of eyeball appeal. Expect admiring glances wherever you go. Cadillacs of this vintage will always be in style and will always go up in value, especially with a convertible. Drop the top, keep it well maintained and enjoy the drive in this classic time machine and you will cruise with the knowledge that you have now made it to the big time.
