Vehicle History

This 1968 Ford Mustang California Special is up for auction by the current owner in Michigan. The current owner purchased the car 14 years ago in Indianapolis. The car was kept garaged during its winters in Indiana, and was meticulously maintained. The current owner performed minimal restoration after buying the car, and has since taken it to numerous shows, where it almost always places in the Top 3.

This vehicle has a reserve price. It will not be revealed until after the close of auction.

The Seafoam-Green exterior was restored in 2009. The restoration included new bumpers, new mirrors, new rubber gaskets, and new trim. The racing stripes on the hood were an available option in 1968 but were not originally included on this car. They were added as a part of the 2009 restoration per Ford specs. It retains all of its original California Special badging.

Matching the energy of the exterior, the interior of this Mustang is finished in Ivy Gold. The pairing of the unusual colors for interior and exterior give this car a truly unique appearance. The only additions are a removable center console, the tachometer, and the addition of an under-dash AM/FM cassette player. The original radio is still on the dash.

The J Code 302 fires up like a charm every time, retaining the power and performance that made it one of the most iconic engines to be found under a Mustang hood. It has never been driven more than 100 miles in a day as long as the current owner has had it, but could easily withstand a cross-country road trip.

04

Pre-Purchase inspection of this Mustang noted no major mechanical or body issues. It is titled in Michigan and comes with an owner's manual and a multitude of restoration documentation.

The current owner has enjoyed restoring the car, but he feels that it is time for somebody else to enjoy it. It's the sort of car he wanted for his entire life, and he's loved owning and driving it for the past 14 years.

06

This classic Mustang is well-preserved, wonderfully maintained, and ready to roll at a moment's notice. It's a head-turner every time it hits the street and would look amazing in your driveway.
