Vehicle History

Very clean and all original, this 4th generation Firebird has been well treated and has very low miles at 70,500,  It has lived a rust free California life with a brief vacation in Arizona.  It’s a pleasure to drive, fast and stable on the straightaways and a lot of fun on a winding country road detour.  Seller has restored Classics for 40 years, has more projects than he has time for and has yet to get into any trouble with this fine example purchased from a high end car collector.

Super straight and in the perfect color combination to accentuate this body style. Tinted Glass T-Tops give you the option of open air motoring without any loss of stability. A very unique vision of the future in the mid ‘90’s that is still forward thinking by today’s standards. Hideaway headlights, deep tinted glass and the Aero package enhance its appeal.

All original leather seats are comfortable and hug your body while you hug the curves. The flowing design blends perfectly with that slippery exterior. Re-live your cassettes on its 10 speaker sound system with equalizer or crank up the 12 disc dealer installed Declo CD changer. Amenities also include steering wheel mounted controls, power windows, locks, mirrors and hatch release and ice cold A/C.

A Corvette derived 5.7 Liter Fuel Injected V8 mated to a 4 speed electronic automatic transmission with limited slip differential provides plenty of power and torque. 1996 was a very good year up 10 more hp from the previous year. Power rack & pinion steering and 4 wheel Anti-Lock disc brakes keep you safely in control.

No rust issues on body or undercarriage and no signs of any previous body damage or collision. The original paint has light scratches and some minimal chips. Engine fires up with no issues, has plenty of power and the transmission shifts smoothly. Handling is great with suspension that is firm and stable. The left front upper ball joint boot is cracked and some oil leakage is visible consistent with vehicle’s age.

Finally the Firebirds are starting to match the values of the Camaros and as the earlier ones rise, so go the ‘90’s. Pick this one up now while the price is right and drive and enjoy your well chosen investment. A head turning fun-to-drive piece of Pontiac history and to steal a quote, she is the automotive equivalent of Kim Bassinger in a silk nightgown.
